Haha! As much as I claim to love all critiques, I tend to be very defensive about my writing as well, and it feels like there’s nothing the reader hasn’t ripped to shreds once she tells me what she thinks is wrong with it. But some people really DO rip everything to shreds!
A good reader is like a good friend: they tell you the truth, but gently.
