Dressed for the Shops

Illustrated front cover from The Queenslander, November 21, 1935 (4388312153)
When I see old movies with women in floor-length dressing gowns, or when they’re going to the store and they’ve got a pillbox hat with a net over the eyes and white gloves, I’m offended that I can’t go to the store like that.

    1. By the by, I tried commenting on your post about Trivial Pursuit (my favourite!) but the comment wouldn’t post. I’m not sure if the problem is at your end or mine.

    1. I feel I should point out that this is a quote from Blake Lively, not from myself. Not that I would object to a slightly dressier lifestyle, but white gloves seem impractical for anything but pale embroidery and directing traffic. Though maybe not at the same time – could lead to snarl-ups in more than one sense.

What do you think?
