I made myself a snowball
As perfect as can be.
I thought I’d keep it as a pet,
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas
And a pillow for its head.
Then last night it ran away,
But first – it wet the bed.

Lol! I thought you had written this at first.
Alas, no – such poetry as I have written tended more to the dark and doomful than the whimsical.
Ooogh okay. I like both.
Ah, Shel Silverstein… ๐ I miss reading his poetry when we used to visit my aunt who had a copy of “The Light in the Attic.” She may have had “Where the Sidewalk Ends” too. Makes me all nostalgic… ๐
I don’t think I’ve ever come across his poetry before – obviously I’m missing something!
Oh yes you are! Just Google it and you’ll find a lot of funny children’s poetry, paired with his whimsical drawings. A lot of clever wordplay.
Oh good – I can always use some more clever wordplay in my life.
