Have you ever received a gem (or nugget) of wisdom from an unexpected source?
What was the source – and what the wisdom?
Well, I never expected Donald Knuth to be on Twitter, given his long-standing reasons for not using email, but apparently @realDonaldKnuth has precisely one tweet to his name: “If you optimize everything, you will always be unhappy #Knuth”, which I think might be good advice for me.
There’s a lot in that. Perfectionism is, after all, merely another name for discontent.
