Release Day!

Yes, for the second time this year (!), it is the Day of the Book’s Release.

The Ambition of a Potato

Today it is the turn of The Ambition of a Potato, a compilation of the 93 best blog posts from 2013 to 2019 – including a recipe, limerick, commination, and song – plus eleven snippets, nine all-new posts, one exordium, preface, or prolegomenon, and one endsay, postword, or afteramble.

The First Slice of Potato

The Ambition of a Potato is rapidly approaching its release to a ravening public (or at least, I hope they’re ravening), and I am happy to say that you can now help yourself to a serving. The sample is freely available here, in the usual variety of formats. Everyone is welcome to come back for seconds on the 31st of October!

In less joyful news, The Wound of Words has been eliminated from SPFBO6, though it did make the final three in its group of 30. In eliminating it, the judges said “The Wound of Words is unique and full of whimsical charm. Makarios has a knack for elegant lines and creating memorable characters. That said, some readers may find the stakes too low and the overall tone too light. ”

Preorder a Potato!

Hullo all you lovely blog readers! I am delighted to tell you that the best, the brightest, the cream of the cream of the first seven years of this blog will shortly be available to you in convenient ebook form!

And by shortly, I mean the end of October, though if you are a patron of Kobo, Barnes & Noble, or Apple’s iBooks (no link due to maximum security walled garden keeping me out), you can preorder now.

In the meantime, feast (your eyes) on this potato in its jacket!

Not exactly a jacket, I must admit, as due to the nature of blog posts (images, hyperlinks and the like) this book will only be available as an ebook and therefore have a front cover only. More of an apron than a jacket, perhaps?

What do you think?
